Frequently asked

Are these the real DMV test questions?

No. Every question and explanation in the app is original text written from the California Vehicle Code and the public California Driver's Handbook. The DMV does not publish its exam pool. The app follows the real test's format — 36 questions with 6 mistakes allowed if you are 18 or older, 46 with 8 allowed if you are under 18 — so practising feels like the real thing.

Which languages are included?

English, Español, 中文, Tiếng Việt, 한국어, Русский, العربية and فارسی. Arabic and Persian are laid out right-to-left. You can switch language at any time from the globe button, and show or hide the English translation under each question.

Do I need an internet connection?

No. Questions, road signs and your progress all work offline. A connection is only needed if you open an official DMV link or download the handbook for offline reading.

The handbook link opens an English PDF

The DMV publishes the current handbook in some languages and not others. Where the DMV has no current edition in your language, the app tells you the edition date and falls back to English. Korean and Arabic editions on the DMV site are older than the English one.

Read-aloud does nothing in Persian

iOS does not preinstall a Persian voice. Install one in Settings → Accessibility → Spoken Content → Voices, then return to the app.

How do I reset my progress?

Home screen → Options → Reset progress. It only clears the language you are currently studying.

Official DMV resources

The DMV publishes the handbook, sample knowledge tests and appointment booking free of charge at dmv.ca.gov. The app links to these directly.
